Green Audit

1. What Is a Green Audit?

A Green Audit is a systematic evaluation of the college’s environmental performance—covering energy usage, water consumption, waste management, campus greening, and more. It helps identify areas for improvement and implements eco-friendly measures, aligning with NAAC’s sustainability expectations.

2. NAAC Compliance (Criterion VII)

Under NAAC Criterion 7 (“Institutional Values & Best Practices”), Mehta College conducts the following audits:

  • 7.1.2–7.1.5: Green Campus Initiatives—bicycle usage, plastic ban, tree plantations, vehicle entry restrictions, pedestrian pathways.
  • 7.1.6: Quality Audits—green audit, energy audit, environment audit, clean‑and‑green campus recognitions, and promotional activities beyond campus.

3. Key Environmental Initiatives

Mehta College actively implements:

  • Restricted vehicle access & designated pedestrian-friendly zones
  • Promotion of bicycles and battery vehicles
  • Complete ban on single-use plastics
  • Landscaping, biodiversity zones, and periodic tree plantation drives
  • Rainwater harvesting & water conservation systems
  • Energy-efficient lighting and equipment
